Product Description:
Turmeric belongs to the family of Zingiberacea, the ginger family It is an upright, relatively short and stout plant that rarely grows more than about 1 meter in height. Its leaves are elongated, dark green, and pointed, often curling slightly along the margins. Each leaf arises on an individual stalk directly from the fleshy rhizome at their base. The rhizome appears scaly due to the remaining rings of previous leaves. Its outer skin is brownish, but its flesh is a deep orange-yellow inside. Rhizomes grow to about 5-8 cm x 1.5 - 2.5cm. When bruised they omit a spicy scent. The flower stalk will appear among the leaves, also directly arising from the rootstock. The yellow-reddish flowers are arranged spirally along the cylindrical spike, which may be partially protected by a leaf sheath. The flowers poke out from protective bracteoles, which form little 'pockets' along the flower spike. Turmeric propagates mostly vegetatively by means of rhizome segments. Europeans first discovered turmeric they often falsely identified it as saffron.

Always Fresh

I am using this with your dried coconut milk to make Golden Milk which I drink before bed. It's a great way to add turmeric to my diet without having to swallow more pills (I can only make so many Indian dishes since that is not my ethnic background. P.S. I also add a tiny pinch of black pepper as I read it increases absorption 200 times!

Tumeric

I haven’t opened the numeric yet. I assume it will be fine. I am giving the 5-star review on service. The product came very quickly. They were out of the coconut oil that I might have ordered. I emailed an inquiry and one of the tech guys responded saying that it would be in soon. What was most impressive to me was when it was back in stock, that same tech guy emailed me again to let me know. Amazing!

Organic Turmeric Powder

I love it. We use turmeric powder in many dishes and drinks and therefore use a lot of it. Buying it in bulk from WFN is the perfect and most economical way to purchase it. And I trust WFN for their quality in products.

Fabulous Turmeric

I have been using this Turmeric for several years. Wilderness Family Naturals offers herbs and spices for ridiculously low prices, and you can readily use up a pound of this before it gets stale. Like everything else I have bought here, the Turmeric is very fresh and free of lumps or impurities. I mix a heaping spoonful (about 2 tsp) with sufficient Palm Oil to make a paste or slurry. I eat this once or twice a day.
