Peppermint is a flowering perennial. Usually growing between 12 and 35 inches tall. It is a natural hybrid of Spearmint and Watermint. This herb is easy to grow in moist soil. The aromatic chemicals in the mint are contracted when the plant is grown in areas with long, warm, bright summer days. Most common preparations for Pau D’Arco is tea. Peppermint oil or flavoring does go into a lot of other products such as toothpaste, mouthwash, chewing gum, cough drops, baked goods and/or ice cream. The oil can also be vaporized for inhalation.
The Ancient Egyptians cultivated and used Peppermint Leaves for indigestion. The Ancient Romans and Greeks also consumed Peppermint to soothe their stomach aches.
