How To Make Almond Butter {and why you should!} | Due to our child's severe peanut allergy, we wondered if we'd ever be able to enjoy PB&J's again. Then we discovered almond butter... but $10 for 12 ounces? Ouch on the budget. Thankfully, homemade almond butter is super easy! | WildernessFamilyNaturals.com

Is there a sandwich more classic than the peanut butter and jelly?

Loved by so many kids and adults alike, the PB&J was a staple in our home… Until I had a child with a peanut allergy

We had to eliminate all peanuts in our home, much to the dismay of my peanut butter-loving older children. Was there anything we could substitute it with?

Then, we discovered delicious, nutty, flavorful almond butter. It was exactly what we all needed for sandwiches, spreading on celery, or just eating off the spoon.

But, to pay $10 for a 12-ounce jar? That stretched our budget thinner than we liked.

Do you know what it’s like to find a favorite food or replacement only to NOT be able to afford it? This is why you need to learn to make your own!

It only requires 2 items: almonds and a food processor. You can use a blender as well, but it may take a lot longer to blend. The best part of making your own almond butter is that YOU control the ingredients. You can make as much or as little as you need each time, controlling the price, too.

For the best almond butter, you should first soak the almonds in salt water for 24 hours, like this –> How To Soak & Dehydrate Nuts.

And of course, every nut butter and jelly sandwich needs a yummy, sweet jelly — like our Freeze-Dried Raspberry Jam!

Don’t have time to soak and dehydrate the nuts? No problem! Wilderness Family Naturals has pre-soaked and dehydrated almonds so you can make almond butter with zero upfront work! They are super crunchy and perfect for homemade almond butter!

Have you ever made your own nut butters? Do you soak and dehydrate nuts to reduce phytic acid? Would you like to learn how to make almond butter?
